It's my first boxing class why do I need to arrive 15mins early?
We ask you to arrive 15 minutes early so we have time to introduce you to your coaches for the class and show you around. This allows a bit of time to get to know you and your boxing ability helping them to train you accordingly. Don’t worry, we welcome all levels of boxers and, if it’s your first time our experienced coaches will help wrap your hands and go over the basic techniques should you need it before you get started.
What should I expect during a class?
Blood, Sweat, and Tears! Only joking, but you can be sure you will sweat; a lot! Train like a fighter in our fitness and boxing classes and learn some new skills.
Our classes are small with just 8 per class so you’ll receive a lot of one to one support from our coaches. We guarantee you will come away feeling like you’ve pushed yourself and are proud of it.
Do you have to be really good at boxing to do a session?
Not at all. Never boxed? Done boxercise? Had 5 fights? You’re a pro? Whatever your ability, all comers are welcome.
Will I learn how to box?
Thats the idea. Authentic boxing training, from proper boxers, coaching from experience. Though if you don’t listen, you can’t learn.
Will I get punched?
Only if you talk back to your coach.
The real answer is not unless you join a sparring session where you should expect full contact. In a Boxing Session the coach will occasionally have you practicing drills with each other and you are practicing those reaction skills. In the Conditioning Session you won’t be having any contact.
Is it a female friendly gym?
With a 50/50 split male and female and a higher influx of interest from women than men in the sport we pride ourselves at 12×3 for being welcoming to anybody and everybody.
Do I need to bring gloves and wraps?
We provide gloves to use, and sell wraps for £5. We do sell gloves also, and it’s always nice to have your own but borrowing ours is fine.
Do you have showers and lockers?
Yes we have lovely showers, towels and posh toiletries. If you don’t train hard we do switch off the hot water though. There are lockers for your session, but not overnight lockers. We sell padlocks if you happen to forget your own.
What should I wear?
Clothes! You’d be surprised, we’ve seen people try to go shirtless, nobody wants to see it. Jokes aside though, your normal training gear is good. On your feet your usual training footwear will be fine, something that lends itself to agility. Boxing boots are the best but no need to go out and buy a pair specifically.
When should I arrive?
DON’T BE LATE. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your session, get your mind right, wraps on, water bottle full and ready to meet your coach.
If you are running late, please call the front desk and let us know.. Late arrivals exceeding 10 minute courtesy will not be allowed into the session. Late arrivals become disruptive to the instructor and other clients so we appreciate your consideration. Sorry, no exceptions.
What's the cancellation policy?
To retain class credits – cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled class.
If a class is missed, we are unable refund the credit. Sorry but thats the rules.
Will I be able to take classes at Paddington if I bought sessions at Aldgate?
Yes, don’t worry the 12×3 boxing club is your club, whatever the postcode!
